Yes, you can. However, you may want to work for at least three (3) consecutive months before dropping your benefits altogether as your condition may “flare” and prevent you from successfully performing gainful activity.
You will have to report your earnings to the Administration and, if you are on Supplemental Security Income, your monthly benefit amount may fluctuate.
You should be aware that returning to work, even for a trial period, can trigger the Administration to perform a review of your claim and benefits may be continued, or ceased, based upon their review.
Before returning to work, you should consult your physician and ask if you are healthy enough to return to the work force.
